David Alan Brown

David Alan Brown, 70, a lifelong resident of Kingsport, passed away at his Kingsport home on Friday, March 8, 2024, after a long battle with colon cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Brown and Marie McDavid.

David enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing on the local lakes and rivers for many years as well as camping at Warrior’s Path State Park. It was a family tradition for many years when his sister visited with her family from Iowa as the camper was their “airbnb”. David also loved gardening, especially homegrown tomatoes, which he shared with many neighbors and friends. He was also quite the collector of “stuff”.

Over the years, he worked primarily as a truck driver when he worked for a tree company, a concrete company, or over-the-road truck driver, until he developed colon cancer.

Those left to mourn are his sister, Sheila Weldon and husband, Jerry, of Knoxville, IA; nephew, Jeremy Brown and wife, Lisa, and their children, Gavin & Maranda; all of Carmel IN; niece, Amber Weldon of Pella, IA; a few cousins, neighbors & friends and his beloved Yorkie, Booger.

Graveside services will be conducted by brother-in-law, Jerry Weldon, in the Garden of Solomon, at Hamlett Dobson Memorial Park in Blountville, TN, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, where friends and family are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, simply “pay it forward” to someone who needs it.
