Dennis McFarland, born January 12, 1951, passed away on August 17, 2026, following a courageous battle with illness. Dennis remained surrounded by the love of his family, which meant more to him than anything in this world. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, hard work, dedication, and cherished memories.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family.
Dennis proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran. He was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to providing for and caring for the people he loved. He carried that same dedication and loyalty into every part of his life.
Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan McFarland, whom he loved more than anything. Their love remained an important part of who he was throughout his life, and his family knew just how deeply he cherished her.
More than anything, Dennis lived for his family. He found tremendous joy in being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will always be remembered for his love, his hard work, his strength, generosity, and dedication to his wife and family.
Dennis is survived by his sisters, Cookie Burns and Karen Tetlow and family; his beloved daughter and Son in law, Tracy Mitchell and Jackie Mitchell; his beloved son, Mark McFarland; and his grandchildren, Jack Mitchell and family, Nicole Mitchell and family, Shane McFarland and family, and Lucas McFarland.
Dennis leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured for generations. His greatest legacy is the love he gave to his wife and family, and he will be forever remembered and missed by his loving family and friends.
Though he is no longer with us, Dennis will never be forgotten. He will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and most of all, in the family he loved more than anything. As per his wishes we will not be doing a viewing or public funeral service but a small private family memorial service.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dennis A. McFarland.
