Diana Elizabeth Miller

Diana Elizabeth Miller, 86 of Piney Flats passed away January 28, 2026, at her home. She was born November 30, 1939, in Langdon, ND to Frank and Helen Schmidt. Diana accepted Jesus Christ as lord and savior while attending the Church of the Open door in Los Angeles, CA. She received her MA degree in Education and Administration from San Fernando State College in 1970. In 1974 she established the Michael Dunn Center for people with developmental disabilities in Kingston, TN. Diana taught special needs children and later trained special needs teachers at Bryan College and ETSU.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren John and Heather and her three great-grandchildren. Diana was an avid reader. She to be on the water and in the pool and enjoyed boating on the intercoastal waterway in Florida. Diana was high energy managing the family, caring for Judy, and working full time wherever John’s job would take her.

Diana is survived by her husband of 62 years John Miller III, their son John IV and special needs daughter Judith.

A private committal service will be held for the family.
