Don L. Clemmons, 72, Kingsport, entered into rest on Sunday March 4, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Whitesburg, TN, but had resided the majority of his life in Kingsport. Mr. Clemmons was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Flowers Baking Company. After his retirement, he worked for a short time at Barlowe World.
Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith; previously attending West View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Verlie Cannon Clemmons; two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth; one sister, Charlotte Gragg; and special brother-in-law, Paul ?Buddy? Short.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Wanda Clemmons; two daughters, Angie Holland and husband, Randy, and Tina Steffey and husband, Doug, both of Kingsport; special grandchildren, Landon, Chandler, and Callie Grace; one sister, Patricia Daley and husband, Nick, of Blountville; one brother, J. E. Clemmons and wife, Helen, of Kingsport; and two special sisters-in-law, Carol Short and Clara Clemmons.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Christian, Darin Christian, Randy Christian, Chris Christian, William Barner, and William Barner, Jr.
