Donald Lekah Miller

Donald Lekah Miller, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 5, 2024 at The American House Assisted Living. He was surrounded by his loving family. Lekah was a kind, easygoing person, not asking for much in his life. Lekah was born July 4, 1938 to the late John and Lena Mae Miller of Johnson City. He grew up in Johnson City and attended Boones Creek High School. Lekah married the love of his life, Helen Sue Ervin Miller, who preceded him in death in January 2012. Lekah was a member of East Pine Grove UMC where he was baptized. He loved singing in the choir.

 

Preceding him in death were his sisters, Manola Loudy (Ralph), Shelia Poole (Larry) and infant brother.

 

Surviving him are his sisters, Pat Rose, Judy Ledford (David); brother-in-law, Kenny Ervin (Sandra); sister-in-law, Jean Davis; niece, Renae Riddle; nephews, Nick Rose, Jonathan Loudy of Indiana; great-nephew, Roger Riddle; great great-nephews, Roger Gavin Riddle, Deven and Dillen Loudy of Indiana; and great great-niece, Enzleigh Loudy of Indiana.

 

Lekah loved sports, Atlanta Braves, golf, basketball including UT men’s and women’s and ETSU men’s and women’s teams. He was an avid bowler for 20 years. During his teenage years, he was a caddy at Johnson City Country Club where he formed his love for golf. During his adult years, he worked for ITT North Electric and later, Pet Dairy, where he retired.

 

The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to nurses, Vanessa, Judith, Jeanie and Dr. James Holt, including staff at The American House.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Edward Davis officiating.

 

Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Ervin, Nick Rose, David Ledford, Roger Fillers, Larry Campbell, Roger Riddle and Ralph Miller.
