Donna Sue Carter

Donna Sue Carter, 63, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Donna was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and had retired from Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department in Winston Salem, N.C. She was a member of Summersville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott Larkins and Blanche Garland; and sister, Rebecca Sharrett.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Annie Melton and husband James; son, Chris Fulp; her grandson and pride and joy, Brody; father, Jim Garland; sister, Barbara Jones and husband Freddie; special niece, April Rhoton and husband Tyler and their sons Jaxon and Dawson; special nephew, Jonathan Sharrett; and brother-in-law, Henry Sharrett.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Ballad Hospice House for the excellent care given to Donna.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor James Adams officiating.

Pallbearers will be family.
