Dora Jean Matthews

Dora Jean Matthews, age 93 of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, with her family by her side. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of James H. and Margaret King Scholl and had resided in this area most of her life. A loving wife and mother, she retired after over 20 years of service as an Administrative Assistant in Professional Management.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Brian Matthews and two grandsons, Samuel and David Matthews.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Lori and Ron Matthews.

A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, with a graveside service to follow in the Garden of Solomon, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, Tennessee. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ryan Shaffer.
