Doris J. Parsons

Doris J. Parsons, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24th, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Sullivan County and had resided in Kingsport for most of her life. Doris was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Stapleton and Leota Akard Stapleton; four sisters, Joan Fairbanks, Bonnie Richmond, Ruby McElvern, and Betty Massey; and two brothers, Jack Stapleton and Charles Stapleton.

Doris is survived by four sons, Kenny Russell, Jerry "Tab" Russell, Greg Russell and Ronnie Parsons, all of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Jones of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, December 30th at 2:00 pm at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
