Dorothy Duncan

Dorothy Duncan, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a graduate of Ketron High School where she was a cheerleader. Dorothy was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Greg Duncan; parents, Red and Virginia Lambert; sister, Jean Hair; and brother, Donnie Lambert.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don Duncan; 3 sons, Jeff Duncan, Mark Duncan and girlfriend, Patty Owens, and Bart Duncan; 5 grandchildren, Johnathon Duncan and wife, Jenny, Hannah Duncan, Josh Duncan, Seth Duncan and Chloe Duncan; 2 great-granddaughters, Willow and Ellie Duncan; sister, Brenda Ratliff; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks for the love and kindness that was given to Dorothy by Rita Dorton and Smokey Mountain Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Scott Vaughn, Pastor David Foster and Pastor Travis McKee officiating.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
