Dorothy Walker

Dorothy Martin Walker, 97, of Bristol, formally of Kingsport, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at America House, Bristol. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School Class of 1942. Dorothy married William T (Bill) Walker. She was a member of Eastern Star, Kempsville, VA. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved creating artwork through quilting. She also enjoyed listening to Christian radio broadcasts and studying the bible.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T (Bill) Walker; son, William T (Sonny) Walker, Jr.; and grandson, Robert Gosden, III.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Thomas E (Tom) Walker and daughter-in-law, Frances Walker; daughter-in-law, Portia Burkett Gosden; grandchildren, Daniel Walker, Steven Walker, Melissa Gosden, Suzanne Gosden Kitchen, Tammy Weaver, and Tonya Hooker; great-grandchildren, Erica Edwards, Charles Kitchen, Devin Walker, Cameron Walker, Phillip Walker, Dylan Walker, Brenna Walker, Dylan Rice, Logan Rice, Alex Weaver, Noah Weaver, Jenny Weaver; great-great-grandchildren: Trinity Edwards, Pandora Edwards, Salem Edwards, Braxton Walker, Levi Rice, Claira Rice.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and honorary pallbearer, Daniel Walker.
