Ella Mae Copas

Ella Mae Copas, 80, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with The Lord Sunday morning, December 3, 2023, at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Ella was a loving wife, mother, pastor’s wife and grandmother. She graduated from Blountville High School Class of 1961. She enjoyed working for NC State Parks and Recreation and retired from the State of North Carolina. She loved her family, reading, singing, gospel music, and the Lord. She was a member of The Homeland Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Pastor Terry Browder, Justin Quillen, BRMC ICU #3 staff, Homeland Baptist Church and several neighbors for their loving support.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Morgan Dunn; father, John Morgan; stepfather, Bruce Dunn; brother, John Morgan; sister, Anna Lee Skelton; and niece, Yvonne Morgan Moorman.

Surviving loved ones include her loving husband of 62 years, Kyle Wayne Copas; son, Timothy Copas (Crystal); son, Jonathan Copas (April); daughter, Sharon Holder (Boyd); seven grandchildren; Meredith Harvey, Alexander Christopher Kyle Copas, Kelli Copas, Tommy Holder, Vestal Holder, Katelin Franklin Moss and Kyler Franklin; two great-grandsons, Grayson Langley and Henry Fletcher Moss; several special nieces and nephews, Mary Olmes, Kevin and Misty Justice; and best friend, Vicki Reno.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Homeland Baptist Church.  Family and friends, we would be honored for you to join us for Ella’s Celebration of Life service held at Homeland Baptist Church Thursday at 12:00 p.m. The graveside service will follow the funeral at East Lawn Cemetery.
