Elva Roberts, a devoted servant of the Lord, peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 90.
She was born on November 22, 1935, to the late Alford Frank Crawford and Clara Bell Light Crawford. Elva worked for several vending companies and later served at Sulphur Springs Elementary School in the cafeteria. She was a longtime member of Chimney Top Free Will Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshiped, served, and shared God’s love. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched, including her time singing with the Chimney Top Quartet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert “Ralph” Roberts; her daughter, Wanda Bailey; and her sisters, Shelby, Annie, and Darlene.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Juanita (Bobby) Coleman of Jonesborough, TN; her son, Terry (Linda) Roberts of Fall Branch, TN; her son-in-law, Steve Bailey; her sister, Irene Morelock; her grandchildren, James (Allison) Coleman, Jason (Mindi) Coleman, Todd (Melinda) Bailey, Rebecca Bailey, Casey (Chad) Thomas, and Cody (Abigail) Roberts; and her great-grandchildren, Grace, Bryson, Mason, Addilynn, and Levi. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Nell Waycaster and Blanche Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Bro. Terry Roberts and Bro. Cody Roberts officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Oak Glen Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Preston Patrick officiating.
Pallbearers will be James Coleman, Jason Coleman, Todd Bailey, Cody Roberts, Bryson Bailey, Levi Bailey, and Chad Thomas.
