Emily Hale Jennings, Kingsport, passed away Thursday morning January 11, 2007 at Church Hill Healthcare after a period of declining health.
Ms. Jennings was born February 27, 1918 and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. She attended Kingsport city Schools, graduating from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1937 and subsequently from Arlington Hall Junior College Washington, DC in 1939.
For many years, Ms. Jennings was active in the Kingsport business community while serving as Secretary/Treasurer of Fort Robinson Realty Corporation. She was a past member of Kingsport Junior League and Ridgefields Country Club.
Ms. Jennings was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Her parents, William R. and Bessie B. Jennings and sister, Lucille ?Wogs? Jennings preceded her in death.
Surviving are cousins, Richard Jennings of Johnson City, Adelaide Jennings Smith of Wytheville, VA, James F. Wright and wife, Karen of Kingsport, Peyton Jennings Wright of Dallas, TX, Charles S. Wright and wife, Ann, Rachel E. Wright, and Charles A. Wright, all of Knoxville.
Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with The Rev. Dr. David Cagle officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.
