Ernest Dale Mosley

Ernest Dale “Ernie” Mosley of Blountville, TN passed away May 3, 2026. He conquered many health challenges over the years and now he can rest.

He was born June 30, 1943 in Yuma, VA to Claude and Dona Christian Mosley. Ernie was a graduate of Lynn View High School and enlisted in the US Navy in 1962, serving 4 years. He was employed with Warner Cable for many years before owning and operating multiple stores in Church Hill and Kingsport. Ernie participated in dirt track racing at Kingsport Speedway and enjoyed fishing, UT sports, NASCAR, gardening and trips to the casino. He loved the outdoors and nature and entertaining friends and family with stories and jokes.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Dona Christian Mosley, and his 5 brothers Patton (passed away April 10, 2026), Everette, John, Jack and Bobby. He and his brothers took several trips together and had many interesting adventures.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Milhorn Mosley; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Roddie Curd; grandson, Tanner Curd of Piney Flats, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Rosetta and Larry Bridwell of Blountville, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Cheryl Milhorn of Blountville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Richard Myers.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville. The funeral service will Rev. Ginger Isom officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mike Baird.

The graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park. Military Rites will be presented by American Legion Posts 3/265.
