Ethel Cullop Reynolds

When Ethel Cullop Reynolds, “Nannie,” stepped into heaven on November 20, 2025, she brought with her the wit, warmth, and just-right sarcasm that made the world — and now heaven — a livelier place.

Ethel was known for her sharp wit, her fierce strength, and her lifelong commitment to natural healing. As a reflexologist, colon therapist, and essential-oil expert long before it was trendy, she always knew how to heal; usually involving a long list of herbs, tinctures, essential oils, strict dietary instructions combined with insistence to alter language and mindset. After all, “you think about - you bring about.” She could work circles around anyone, never slowed down, and lived life her own way from start to finish.

She was immensely proud of her family — her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she bragged on them to anyone who would listen. If you knew her, you knew each of them.

She joins her parents and Hayter “Big Daddy” Reynolds in heaven.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Chris Reynolds (Penny), Hayter Dee Reynolds (Lee), Howard Reynolds (Graceanne), Rebekah Reynolds (Bill Hightower), and Bryan Reynolds; grandchildren, Jordyn Quillen (Corey) and their son, Arthur; Angelina and Alina; Samantha Reynolds (waiting in heaven with open arms); Zachary Reynolds (Savannah) and their children, Teddy, Shep and Lottie; Jaxon Reynolds; Alex Brizendine (Erick) and their son, Beckham; Shane Hightower, Mandy Tester (Cody) and their daughter, Emma; Cooper, Brylee and Boden Reynolds.

Ethel will be remembered for her humor, her resilience, her healing touch, and the unmistakable way she made everyone feel better by simply being herself. Her legacy lives on in the many people she loved, lifted, raised, and cared for along the way.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Blountville. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Gene Hooker officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Joseph Dowling Soka officiating.

Pallbearers will be Hayter Reynolds, Chris Reynolds, Howard Reynolds, Bryan Reynolds, Bill Hightower and Cooper Reynolds.
