Faye Compton Head

Faye Compton Head, age 83, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 19, 2026. Born March 26, 1943 in Greene County, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ervin Lee Compton and Cornelia Compton.

Faye was a woman of profound faith and a devoted Christian who walked daily in the grace of her Savior. As a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church, her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and love for her church family were evident to all who knew her. Faye spent her life putting others before herself, earning a reputation among family and friends as the most loving, giving and patient woman.

She dedicated over 36 years of loyal service to Eastman Chemical Company, where she ultimately retired from the Environmental Services Lab. Her hard work, reliability, and warm presence left a lasting impact on her colleagues.

Faye was reunited in heaven with her parents; her loving husband, Glenn Kenner Head; her dear sister, Ivanell Chapman; and her brother-in-law, Richard Chapman.

Her beautiful legacy of love lives on through her devoted children, daughter, Kristy Head Overbey, and son, Trevor Scott Head, along with his wife, Jody. She was the proud “mammaw” of Baylee Head, Payton Marshall, Casey Jones (Briana), Grayson Jones, and Chapel Head. Her great-grandson, Bentley Jones, brought immense joy to her last days. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Robinson, and her brother-in-law, Doyle Robinson. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as Nicole, Lelia, and Caleb, who each held a very special place in her heart.

Faye’s gentle warmth and boundless generosity will be deeply missed, but her family takes comfort knowing she is resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Anthony Gragg officiating.
