Frank M. Lawson, Jr.

Frank M. Lawson Jr., 65, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2026. Born in Kingsport but was raised in Scott County. Frank was a 1980 graduate of Gate City High School. He went to work following graduation and retired with the City of Kingsport. Frank had a servants heart and was always willing to help others. He will be remembered as a tremendous husband, dad, and papaw, who loved to hunt and fish as he was a big outdoorsman. Frank was an incredible hard worker, who loved the Lord, and attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janie Lawson; mother and father-in-law, Evisten and Lillian Lane; and his grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Vanessa Lawson; children, Jessica McGuire (Brad) and Dustin Lawson; grandchildren, Easton and Everly; siblings, Teresa Davidson, Linda Gibson (Gary), Pam Flanery (Ronnie) and Jamie Lawson (Christie); sisters-in-law, Jackie McMurray (Clifford), Martha Carter (Steven), Sarah Bennett (Terry); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Jennings and Rev. Terry Bennett officiating.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, Blountville.
