Freddie Thomas Hamilton

Freddie “Hoobie” Thomas Hamilton, 96, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025. Born in Kingsport, he has lived in this area all of his life. “Hoobie” retired after many years of service from Eastman Kodak. He was an active member of Fordtown Baptist Church. “Hoobie” was mechanically inclined, who could fix just about anything. A loving husband and father, he loved and was loved.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hattie Isenburg Hamilton; his wife, Verbena “Teenie” Hamilton; daughter, Sandra Overbay; brothers, Charlie, Marlin and Clevie Hamilton; and sister, Patsy Miller.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Brenda Jenkins; granddaughter, Angela Overbay; son-in-law, James Overbay; brother, Bill Hamilton and wife, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, in the Chapel at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Blountville, Tennessee. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Ryan Shaffer. Burial will follow in the Garden of Devotion at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.
