George W. Cradic, Jr., 87, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his wife and daughters who loved and adored him.
Born on January 3, 1938, in Appalachia, VA, to Maurine Hill Cradic and George William Cradic, Sr., George's life was marked by dedication, love, and service.
George graduated from East High School in Knoxville, TN, and the University of Tennessee, where he was a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta, the American Society of Chemical Engineers, and the UT golf team. Following his college years, George served in the Air National Guard and enjoyed a successful 37-year career in sales and management at Eastman Chemical.
In 1961, George married the love of his life, Linda. Their 63-year union was a testament to their devotion to each other, their family, friends, and the communities of Dayton, OH, and Kingsport, TN.
A man of deep faith, George was actively involved in his church, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and chairing numerous committees at First Presbyterian of Kingsport, TN. He also enjoyed volunteering at Holston Valley Hospital.
George's outgoing personality and great smile were well known to all who met him. He had a passion for golf, tennis, reading, and travel. In his retirement, he cherished spending time with family and friends at Litchfield by the Sea, SC.
George is survived by his loving wife, Linda Cradic; his two daughters, Laura (Dennis) Ball and Lisa (Michael) Durham, both of Atlanta; and his two precious grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Nathan) Nottrott and Spencer Ball. In recent years, he was blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren, Miller and Ford.
A celebration of George's life will be held on Friday, June 13, at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends immediately following the celebration of life service in the church fellowship center.
