George W. Epps

George W. Epps, 92, of Kingsport, TN, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 18, 2022, in the comfort of his home. He was a faithful man who loved reading his Bible, fishing, spending time with his family and telling stories. George was a Marine Corp veteran, and a member of the American Legion Color Guard, Shriners and volunteered at the VA Hospital.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; brothers and sisters, Irene, Dolly, Calvin, and Bill; and his son Steve.

George is survived by brothers, Curtis, Mike, and Richard; son, Greg; grandson, Ryan and wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Brooke Collins; great-grandchildren, Caroline, and Boone Epps; and a special thanks to daughter-in-law, Vanessa Epps, for caring for him.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Bob Fletcher officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded by The American Legion Post 3/265.
