George Donald Hamblin
George Donald Hamblin, 77, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Greystone Health Care Center.
He was born February 14, 1930, in Hawkins County, TN, to the late Andrew and Dulcie Hamblin and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.
Don was a kind, loving, and caring person who was devoted to his family and always tried to help others in need. He loved to call family members and give encouragement with his favorite scripture ? Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Lyle Hamblin; and sisters, Ruth Hamblin and Irma Linkous.
He is survived by two nieces, Barbara Wilmoth and Sandra Linkous; special friend, Debbie McCurry; and other loving relatives, Danny and Gina Geisler, David and Shawna Smith, Jason and Tammy Wilmoth, Keisha, Cheyenne, Erica, and Derek.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Tony Gonzalez officiating.
