Gladys Marie Perry

Gladys Marie Perry, 92, of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Born on July 12, 1933, in Sullivan County, Gladys was the oldest of seven children born to Carl Sr. and Beulah Lundy. She was a devoted wife for 68 years and a loving mother to three daughters. Gladys especially enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, James Ted Perry; her parents, Carl Sr. and Beulah Lundy; sisters, Janie Ruth Campbell and Shirley Mae Hale; brother, Carl Lundy Jr.; grandson, James Ray Perry; and granddaughter, Melissa Kay Parks.

She is survived by her three daughters: Judy Hinkle (Butch) of Blountville, Tennessee; Ann Rowsey (Wiley) of Richmond, Virginia; and Linda Christian (Teddy) of Blountville, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jonathan Hinkle, Eric Perry, Jeremy Sells, Tracy Chumbley, and Christopher Christian; great-grandchildren, Logan Comer, Maddison Perry, Jesse Perry, Dustin Perry, Bella Sells, Jacob Sells, Joseph Sells, Christian Chumbley, Kaleigh Chumbley, and Waylon Christian; and great-great-grandchildren, Brantley Comer and Kolten Perry.

In addition, Gladys is survived by two sisters, Shelby Chappell and Brenda Clark (Jerry); one brother, Charles Lundy (Kathleen); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial afterward in the Garden of Devotion.
