Glen Robinette Tyler, Jr. (66) passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Born February 15, 1959, he lived most of his life in Scott County, and graduated from Gate City High School in 1977. He retired from Eastman after 39 years as a welder in the Big Shop. He enjoyed working at McGee’s Store after retirement. He was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church in Yuma and helped with many building projects. He loved camping with grandchildren, fishing, and helping people out.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Glen Tyler, Sr., sister Tanya Tyler Morse, and infant grandson Nathaniel Joseph.
He is survived by his wife Pam Catron Tyler, daughters Becky (Wesley) Crouch, and their children, Bryce, Bryan, and Brent; Mandy (Damon) Joseph, and their children, Anna, Elise, Daniel, Hudson, Samuel, Haddon, Silas, and Shepherd; Allison Tyler and her children Elliot and Rhys; Alicia (Adam) Ellis and their children, Elaine, Mercedes, Calvin, Caleb, Felicity, and Connor.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, from 1-3pm at Oak Glen Baptist Church, 2836 Yuma Rd, Gate City, Virginia, 24251, with the funeral to follow with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating. The burial will be at Holston View cemetery following the funeral.
His family will serve as pallbearers.
