Glen Robinette Tyler, Sr. age 94, was born in Fairview, Virginia on December 26, 1930, and passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his residence in Kingsport. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. Glen worked at the Kingsport Press, Hackney Furniture of Gate City, VA and a campground in Myrtle Beach. He loved fishing, woodworking and “tinkering”. Glen enjoyed many years of working in the woodshop at the Renaissance Center.
He attended Oak Glen Baptist Church in Yuma and accepted the Lord as his Savior on July 22, 2025. We are thankful to all his friends and loved ones who have witnessed to him throughout the years and prayed diligently for him. The Lord is truly good to us.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ruth Tyler; wife, Margaret K. Tyler; sister, Billie Sue Berry; and daughter Tanya Morse.
Glen is survived by his son, Glen R. Tyler, Jr. and wife Pam; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm – 6pm on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow at 6pm with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
