Helen Marie Steadman

Mrs. Helen Marie (Harr) Steadman, age 92 of Blountville, TN passed away April 19, 2024. Helen was a graduate of Blountville High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She spent most of her work career working for Dobbins Taylor as a bookkeeper. Whether it was in her flower gardens or the farm, Helen could always be found working even up to the age of 92. Her common complaint about getting older was that she could not work as much as she wanted to. Helen was also one to take care of everybody. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Steadman; parents Henry David Harr and Ethel Evelyn Barger Harr; sister Aileen Harr Runion; brother Harold Wayne Harr; brother in-law Tom Runion; sister in-law Jane Ann Greeson Harr.

Helen is survived by her nephews, David Wayne (Tracy) Harr, Harold Lee (Amy) Harr, and Jeremy Kirk (Candace) Steadman. Helen took particular joy in her grandnephews and grandnieces Avery Harr, Ryan Harr, Jackson Harr, Hudson Harr, Emma Harr, and Daniel Steadman. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ryan Shaffer officiating. A Graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
