Hugh Kyle Bishop

Hugh K. Bishop, 77, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026.

Hugh was born and raised in Kingsport and attended Lynn View High School, class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he began a career at Eastman and retired as a supervisor after 26 years in filter products. Following his retirement, Hugh found himself busy with various business ventures, jobs and hobbies. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, granddad and brother.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Bishop; brothers, James Moffitt and Hoyt Fannon.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Bishop; children, Johnny Bishop, Tracy Akers and Brian Bishop; grandchildren, Bryan Bishop, Alexis Keen and Caleb Hugh Bishop; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
