Ina Cathyrne (Milligan) Harrell left her earthly home on October 8, 2023 after a brief illness to meet her Lord face-to-face and be reunited with her loving husband.

 

Cathyrne was born on August 24, 1938, in Hawkins County to Basil and Leila (Tunnell) Milligan. She was a 1956 graduate of Baileyton High School. Cathyrne worked at W.B. Greene Company and Citizens Supply Corporation. She also worked for 20+ years at West Pines School in Greene County where she was affectionately known as “Aunt Cat” by many students. Cathyrne married the love of her life, S. C. Harrell, Jr. on August 17, 1963, and they were inseparable until his passing on April 3, 2019. She was a faithful member of Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Choir Director for many years as well as Sunday School teacher and secretary/treasurer.

 

Cathyrne is survived by her loving daughter, Tracie Yates and husband Todd; granddaughter, Rachel Yates, who she was so proud of and loved immensely; brother, Ray Milligan; niece, Trisha Jenkins and husband Bill; nephew, Brad Milligan and wife Angie; special great-niece, Raylin Jenkins; great-nephew, Reid Satterfield; and additional family and special friends.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Dinkins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12th at Oakdale Baptist Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Oakdale Baptist Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Linda Hawk, 270 Barkley Road, Afton, TN 37616

 

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Amedysis Hospice of Greeneville for their care and kindness during the past few days.
