J. Fred Walters

J. Fred Walters, 92, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Edward Walters and Callie Walters Penley; daughter, Lynell Walters; great-grandson, Emmett Dixon; brother, Ed Walters; and son-in-law, Stanley Blair.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Rebecca Skeens Walters; two daughters, Cheryl Blair, and Cathy Dixon and husband, Arnold; sister, Nell Watkins; three grandchildren, Shannon (Lydia), Charla (Johnny) and Lee (Mary); four great-grandchildren, Moriah, Maddox, Camden and Harper; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Gunnings Cemetery with Pastor Bob Ferguson and Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating.
