J. Dempsey Light

J. Dempsey Light, 95, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Holston Manor. Dempsey was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was a member of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon for many years. Dempsey retired from TN Eastman. He was an avid fox hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Maude Light; daughter, Ann Dykes; son, Tommy Light; grandson, Eric Dykes and wife Mia; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Jared Dykes.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Pete Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Fox Hunter Friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 12690 Horton Hwy, Greeneville, TN, 37745.
