Jack Davenport

Jack Davenport, Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Washington County, Virginia and had resided in Kingsport since 1950. Jack graduated from Greendale High School, served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Raytheon in Bristol, TN, after many years of service. He dedicated the last 20+ years of his life to the care of his loving wife, who had Alzheimer's.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine G. Davenport, and his parents, Windom G. and Eliza Moore Davenport.

Jack is survived by his nephews, Douglas Arnold and wife, Linda, and Michael Arnold and wife, Arlinda.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, VA, with Rev. LeRoy Davis officiating.
