Jackie Dolan Barrett

Jackie Dolan Barrett, 88, went to be with the Lord at his residence with his family by his side on January 19, 2026. Born in Hawkins County, TN, he had resided in Gray, TN for a number of years. Mr. Barrett was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church and proudly served in the U. S. Air Force. He worked for Eastman Chemical Company as a Lab Analyst for many years prior to his retirement. Jackie was multi-talented in several areas, especially music. He had an innate ability to troubleshoot problems and find a solution in various facets; he was also a talented musician and a skilled tradesman.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents, Edd Barrett and Pauline Marshall Barrett. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Genevieve Barrett; son, Johnny E. Barrett and fiancée Lisa Gibson; daughter, Joy E. Barrett; sisters, Charlote Ruth Dykes of Johnson City, TN; Linda Cox (Gordon) of Jonesborough, TN; Rudy Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service presented by the American Legion Post #3/265 and officiated by Pastor John Herdman, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville.
