Jackie L. Hicks

Jackie L. Hicks, 72 of Kingsport was called home Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at her home after a brief illness.  She was born in Kingsport, where she had lived for most of her life.  Jackie was a retired dietary aide from assisted living.  She enjoyed going to the Kingsport Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael “Weasel” Hicks; mother, Gaynell Mitchell; and her faithful companion, Jake.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Nachella Crawford and husband, Kevin; son, Nakia Hicks and wife, Rachel; three granddaughters, Callie Crawford and fiancé, Casey Tackett, Macee Starnes and fiancé, Landon Deakins, and Haylee Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Carson Deakins; sister, Kim Booker; sister-in-law, Martie Hale and husband, Gary; best friend, Sue Fife; loyal neighbor, Brenda Gillis;  two nieces; two nephews; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
