She was born in Kingsport, TN on December 9, 1932 and graduated from Blountville High School Class of 1950. After 8 years working at the Advance Store in Bristol TN, she married Calvin Dishner in 1958 and moved to Ann Arbor, MI but returned to Blountville in 1965.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carl Lee and Lonna Pet Fickle Cooper; brother, Herschel Cooper; sister-in-law, Eunice Stevens Cooper.
She is survived by son, Dwane Lee Dishner, Knoxville; daughter, Lori Dishner Hillman (David ) of Charlotte; granddaughter, Kady Hillman of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Albert Dishner; stepdaughter, Drucilla Wildermuth (Jim); and step-granddaughter, Lucretia Wildermuth.
She and Calvin loved to travel after his retirement and later with her granddaughter.
She was a member of Hulls Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was church organist/pianist and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women since 1974. Her love of sewing and quilting became a wonderful ministry with the Sew Happy Quilters at Edgefield Methodist Church where they quilted blankets and were given to the homeless citizens of the area. She was involved in many organizations, FCE of Sullivan County, Singles of Kingsport and was an avid fan of Southern Gospel Music and especially the Chuck Wagon Gang and truly enjoyed the many friendships she had with these groups thru the years.
Thank you to Charlie, Becca, Whitney, Kenzie, Denise and her special friend Phyllis for the wonderful home care she received.
The family will receive friends, Friday December 26, 2025 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Blountville. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Estel Williams and Rev. Amanda Larsen Wells conducting the service. Entombment will be in the adjoining mausoleum.
