James L. Fish, 80, of Kingsport passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Wellington Place.
Mr. Fish was a veteran of World War II and retired from J. P. Stephens. He loved to fish.
He was a member of Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for several years.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret Marie Hite Fish; parents, Will and Rose Fish; brothers, Robert Fish, Clay Fish, Henry Fish, and Bordie Fish, who passed away at a young age; sisters, Mabel Sherfey, Leola Skeens, and Juanita Tollie; and his second wife, Kathleen Jessee.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda Loretta Fish Newman of Duffield, VA; one son, Calvin Fish and wife, Terry of Kingsport; former son-in-law, Angus L. Newman, Jr.; four grandchildren, Stacy Newman, Kingsport, Dusty Fish, Kingsport, Laura Newman Mclain, Mechanicsville, VA, and Amy Fish Nutter of Gray; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Luster and Pastor George Winegar officiating.
Burial will follow at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Pallbearers will be Onnie Chase, Leonard Chase, Larry Ferguson, Dennis Hite, Bobby Hite, and Bill Webb.
