James Alvin Thomas
James Alvin Thomas, 68, of Kingsport, passed away on January 4, 2014. He was born in Sullivan County on September 13, 1945 to James Thomas (deceased) and Louanne Thomas, 95. He retired from Sullivan County Highway Department in 1997. He was married to Sandra Webb on February 9, 1980. James loved guns and was an avid hunter. James loved animals and gardening and collected old coins.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita and Dolores.
James is survived by his sons, Tim Thomas and wife, Kim, and Jesse Thomas and wife, Autumn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Young; brothers, Ezra and Tim; and many nieces and nephews.
