Janet Hope Guy

Janet Hope Guy, 72, Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Born in Peoria, Illinois, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport. Hope was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and had retired from Eastman Chemical Company. She was a member of the Body and Soul Ministries, having helped many children in Belize. Hope was a loving woman who loved everyone she encountered.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Steve Guy and her parents, Carl and Jewell Gragg.

Those left to cherish her memory are: daughter, Kristie Bushong and husband, John; son, Brian Guy and wife, Karen; two grandchildren, Abigail and Noah Vinyard; two brothers, John Gragg and wife, Kitty and David Gragg.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville, Tennessee. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Frank Waldo. Burial will follow in the Garden of Avenue of Flags at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
