Janie Ilean Ferguson

Janie Ilean Ferguson went home to be with the Lord November 18, 2009, following a lengthy illness. She was an active member of Sunrise Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized on December 20, 2007. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Annie Florence Dezarn and Kyle English Morelock, Sr.; brothers, J.D., Ed, Dewey, Junior, and Sammy Morelock; sisters, Eula Bishop, Nannie Hite, Rosie Elizabeth Holland; and half-sister Eula Faye Hall.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Fred Ferguson; sisters, Cora Irene Adams and husband Alphard, Juanita Lane, and Carolyn Carter and husband Mack; brothers, George Morelock and Roy Morelock and wife Lois; half-brother, Lonnie Hall; several nieces and nephews; special friend Maxine Nelson; and caregiver Lea Taylor.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Janie s friends at the George Washington Apartments and to the staff of Holston Manor.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Sunrise Baptist Church, with Rev. Kelly Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at Depew s Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
