Jeannette Ryans

Jeannette Ryans, 80, born January 19, 1939 in Virginia to the late Lonzy and Bertha Thompson, passed away early on May 2, 2019 after a long and hard battle with cancer.  She was a great and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Leonard Ryans; son, William Jarrett; and granddaughter, Kelly Castle.

Jeannette is survived by daughters, Shirley Castle (David Castle), Angela Akins, LaToya Necessary, and Glenda Jones (Hubert Channell), all of Kingsport; son, James Jarrett (Rose) of England; grandchildren, Sidney Akins, Kris Jones (Holly McClain), and Chris Lovelace (Deidra), all of Kingsport; and great-grandchildren, Phoenix Dunn and Ashley Jones both of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Cecil Sturgill.officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
