Jerry Bradford Jobe, 78, Kingsport, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center after a long illness.
Jerry was a veteran of the US Army having served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. This would have a lasting impact on his health. He loved nature and being out in the woods watching the deer and wildlife. He was a true lover of history, an avid reader, and enjoyed studying his family ancestry. He loved going to Rogersville Days, wagon trains, and mule rides. Nothing made him happier than a good meal and sitting down with friends and family and talking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Jobe; sister, Charlotte Taylor and brother-in-law, Benny Taylor; brother-in-law, Eddie Waddell; and special nephew, Dakota Austin.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Gayle Waddell; brother, Anthony “Tony” Jobe and wife, Dianne; nieces and nephews, Candi Sanders and husband, Winston, Brandi Austin, Vicki Maxwell and husband, Roy, Angelina Isley and husband, Jim, Tony and Amanda Jobe; and several great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved very much. He loved his precious dog; Sweetie and they are undoubtedly reunited.
Special thanks for the love and care given to Jerry by the staff of Kingston Assisted Living, Duffield, Virginia.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Minister Nathan Woods officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by The American Legion Posts 3/265.
