Jerry Hughe Puckett ("Poodle")

Jerry Hughe Puckett, known to many as "Poodle," of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2026.

Born and raised in Blountville, Jerry attended Central High School. He was a farmer who enjoyed working on trucks, especially his Chevrolet dually, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his animals, particularly his dog, Piggy. Jerry was also known for his love of trading and was always looking for his next deal. He was a great cook, especially when it came to his biscuits and gravy, and if you knew Jerry, you knew chicken was his favorite meal.

More than anything, Jerry loved his family and was an incredible Dad.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Berta Puckett; his uncle, Roy Puckett; and his godson, Tyler Steward.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Charlie and Kathy Puckett; his longtime girlfriend, Betsy Smith; his children, Daniel Puckett, Jerry Puckett, Whittany Puckett, Brantley Puckett, Sydnee Smith, and Anthony Smith; his grandchildren, Hudson, Abigail, Elodie, and Julieanne; his brother, Joe Puckett; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Immanuel Cemetery in Blountville.
