Joan Epperson Gilmore
Joan Epperson Gilmore, 77, Kingsport, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Joan was born in Plattsburgh, New York and moved to Kingsport at a young age. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mack Epperson, Sr. and Anna Epperson; and brother, Mack Epperson, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gilmore; one sister-in-law, Pearl Epperson of Kingsport; four nieces; one nephew; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many beloved friends that she considered family.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Dr. Donnie Brannen and Rev. T. Richard Harris officiating.
Special thanks is extended to all who gave her care.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Generation class and Crosswise.
