John Lord

John Lord, 46, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, he was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School.  He worked at many places over the years including A&W, Wal-Mart and most recently, ACT.  John enjoyed firefighting, Transformers, Legos and trains.  He was a loving father, son and brother.

He was preceded in death by his father, Enos Lord Jr.; paternal grandparents, Enos Lord Sr. and Alice Marie Lord; maternal grandparents, Walter M. Ellis and Florence Ellis Charles and husband, Frank; 2 nieces; and several aunts and uncles.

John is survived by 2 daughters, Emily and Sara Lord; mother, Brenda Lord; sister, Amanda Lord and fiancé, Jessee Dennison; fiancée, Michele Walton; nephew, Ashton Hicks; niece, Anna Hicks; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Craig Needham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel UMC.
