John H. Neeley

John H. Neeley, 92, of Gray, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at The Waters of Bristol. Born in Kingsport to the late Clyde and Jeannette Neeley, he had lived in this area most of his life. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired as Vice President of Sales at Power Equipment Company after over 40 years of service. He was a Trustee at Gray United Methodist Church and past president of Gray Ruritan, and treasurer of the Gray Library.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Patsy Neeley; brother, Bill Neeley, and sister, Mildred Gilreath.

John is survived by his daughter, Carol Neeley Martin and husband, Bill of Charlotte, NC; son, David Neeley and wife, Mitzi of Gray, TN; grandchildren, Trae Helvey, Jonathan Neeley, Logan Neeley, Will Martin, Elliot Martin and Anna Kasher; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Aaron Atchley officiating. Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Trae Helvey, Logan Neeley, Will Martin, Elliot Martin, Jonathan Neeley and Quade Helvey. Honorary pallbearer will be Roy Kasher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gray United Methodist Church, 2108 Oak St., Gray, TN 37615.
