Johnny Ray Hayes

Johnny Ray Hayes, 70, of Kingsport, passed away on January 2, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. Johnny was born in Sullivan County. He accepted Christ in 2006 and always put God first. He met the love of his life Diana when he was a young teen. They married on April 9, 1971 in Linville, NC and were married for 52 years.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Ray Hayes; mother, Ruth Hughes; and stepfather, Harold Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; children, Michele and husband, Mark Pendleton and Ray and wife, Victoria Hayes; grandchildren, Morgan Pendleton and fiancé, Devyn Barger, Zoe Hayes, Olivia Hayes and Ripken Hayes; brothers, Homer (Faye) Hayes and Frank (Brenda) Hayes.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 5:30pm at Salem Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Owens officiating.

We invite those whose life Johnny touched and loved to gather for a visitation following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to cover medical expenses.
