Johnny Salyer

Johnny Salyer, 64, Kingsport, passed away Saturday May 19, 2007 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation-Hill Side.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Church Hill, TN.

Johnny worked for 20 years for the State of Maryland as a maintenance supervisor. He also worked at Kently & Ellis Manufacturing Company as a truck driver for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M. Salyer; companion Judy Wagner Roof; mother, Eliza Ellen Salyer; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Charles Roseberry; and an uncle, Bill Salyer.

Surviving are his son, Ronald Salyer; brothers, Jack Salyer and wife, Loretta, Bobby Joe Salyer, Church Hill, Buford Salyer and wife, Edith, Harold Salyer and wife, Ella, Kingsport, Jimmy Salyer and wife, Stella, Mt. Carmel; sister-in-law, Bobby Salyer; and special companion, Laura Burke, Kingsport.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Bledsoe officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Salyer Cemetery.
