Joyce London Putney

Joyce London Putney, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at The Blake in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina, but lived in Tennessee, Florida and finally moved back to Tennessee. Joyce spent many hours on the road in her RV, seeing the country and making friends. She made loving and lasting relationships everywhere she went.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Clay White and Elsie Belle Hinson London; Julian T. Putney and son, James T. Putney “Buck Shot”.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 22 years, “Buck” Cole; stepson, Lloyd “Sport” Putney, his wife and Joyce’s special caregiver, Avery Putney; V.I.P Tucker Smith (Karie); sister Linda Warren; stepdaughters, Janet and Beth; grandchildren, Preston Putney and Annie King; nieces, Ann Melton, Linda and Beth Lore; nephew, Jamie Warren and several great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life.

Joyce’s family would like to thank the staff of The Blake as well as the Gentiva Hospice nurses for the love and care they gave to Joyce. Memorial contributions may be given to Piney Mountain Methodist Church Cemetery, 14 Piney Mountain Church Road, Candler, North Carolina, 28715.
