Judy Nelson

Judy Nelson, 80, of Gray, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Judy loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Nelson; parents, Gentry and Sylvia Hodges; and brother, Robert Gentry Hodges.

Judy is survived by her sons, Ricky Nelson (Amy) and Craig Nelson (Michelle); grandchildren, Chris Nelson, David Nelson, Willie Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Alex Crawford, and Tyler Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Willie Nelson, Waylon Nelson, Colt Nelson, and Greysten Taylor; sister, Emma Hammond (Mickey); brother, Gary Hodges (Joan); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Blountville. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. John “Mickey” Hammond and Rev. Gary Hodges officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Christopher Nelson, David Aaron Nelson, William Shawn Nelson, Jeffery Lee Nelson, Roy Hammond, and Tyler Gilliam. Honorary pallbearer will be great-grandsons and Alex Crawford.
