Karen Kay Churchwell

Karen Kay Churchwell, 66, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully following an extended illness.

Karen was born and raised in Kingsport and was a 1978 graduate of Sullivan Central High School. She loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, Garrett and Hunter. Karen also enjoyed nature and animals and had a special love for her dog, Cooper. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Anna Middleton; brother, Edward Middleton; and brother-in-law, Steve Smith.

Karen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gary Churchwell; daughter, Jessica Rees and husband, Trever; grandsons, Garrett and Hunter Rees; sisters, Sue McMurray, Connie Hooven and husband, Randy, Barbara Smith, and Rhonda Gent and husband, Ronnie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
