Karen Gwenn Holmes

Karen Gwenn Holmes, 71 of Church Hill, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in Kingsport, she was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School class of 1970. Gwenn was a member of Weber City Baptist Church.

Gwenn was preceded in death by her father, Kermit Shipley.

Survivors include husband, Richard “Rick” Holmes; daughter, Courtney Depew and husband, Chris “Kit”; sons, Shawn Hill and wife, Jessie and Ashley Hill; nine grandchildren; mother, Helen Shipley Nelms; sister, Kay Overbey and husband, Doug; brother, Tim Shipley and wife, Tabitha; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Light Cemetery, Rogersville with Doug Overbey officiating.
