Kathryn "Katey" Elizabeth Harris

Kathryn Elizabeth Harris (née Helton) - Katey, passed away after valiant battle with cancer, on April 1st, 2024, in Kingsport, TN, at the age of 45. She was born on July 31, 1978, in Austin, TX, and was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and friend.

Katey was a 1996 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, and went on to earn her bachelors degree from Rutgers University in 2001, and her Master’s degree from the University of Lincoln, U.K. She was a world traveler and a diehard UT fan. 

In 2012, Katey married her loving husband, Jamie Harris, and together they shared many cherished memories. She was the devoted daughter of Mary and the late Michael Helton and a dear sister to Chris Helton, Mark Helton, and Carol Helton.

Katey will be remembered for her unwavering faith and commitment to her Christian beliefs. She possessed a strong spirit, was incredibly outgoing, and had a remarkable strength of will that inspired those around her.

A memorial service to celebrate Katey's life will be held at First Baptist Church in Church Hill, TN, on April 6th at 7pm. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
